Fall’s Hottest Colors Are Here!

Dear Hot Friends,

Lately, I’ve had color on the brain — and honestly, who could blame me? Last weekend was peak leaf-peeping season here in New York City, and everywhere we turned was another jaw-dropping tree showing off. We spotted fiery red maples, deep burgundy sweetgums, rich chocolatey dogwoods, and my forever favorite: those magical golden ginkgo leaves. Truly breathtaking.

So is it any surprise that fall’s hottest color trends for 2025 echo all these gorgeous shades? Below are the top 5 colors of the season, a few pieces I’m loving in each, and of course, what’s on House of Terrance right now that pairs beautifully with them.

Ferragamo, Victoria Beckham, Prada.

1. Wine O’Clock

Burgundy is the breakout color of 2025 — a rich bordeaux-merlot hybrid that feels equal parts elegant and bold. It’s stunning with gold jewelry and luxurious leather pieces, and it instantly elevates anything you pair it with.

2. Brown Is Still the New Black

Rich chocolate brown continues its reign. This warm neutral works head-to-toe or as the grounding piece in a colorful look. Pantone’s Color of the Year, “Mocha Mousse,” really nailed our collective brown obsession.

Zara Brown Feather Jaket $129

Carved Dark Wood Facet Ring
$45.00

The Dor+Kie Range made in South Africa in wood is a collection of hand-carved wooden jewelry pieces with a contemporary sculptural shape. Each design is available in a dark wood (Imbuia and American Walnut) or light wood (Pau-Marfin or Beech Wood). Very eye-catching and comfortable to wear. Fits a size 8 ring finger.

Victoria Beckham, Sacai, Ferragamo

3. Chili Pepper Red

A little spicy, a little confidence-boosting, and always stylish. There’s truly nothing more useful in a wardrobe than a great red dress — easy to tone down with layers or dress up with bold accessories for a dramatic moment.

Banana Republic Factory $50

Gabriella Hearts, Prada, Etro

4. Colonel Mustard in the Library with a Candlestick

Mustard gold is officially having a moment. It’s the fall-ready evolution of summer’s soft butter yellow — richer, bolder, and perfect in everything from leather jackets to midi skirts. It pairs beautifully with neutrals, too.

Shopbob Aligne Jacket $172

Vintage Connie Bates Fahrenheit Trophy Wife Necklace

5. Cobalt Blue

After years off the trend radar, cobalt is suddenly everywhere — and it feels fresh again. If you’re hesitant, start small: bags, shoes, belts, or jewelry are the perfect low-commitment way to play with the shade.

H&M Cobalt Blue Blouse $39.99

Vintage Marni Gold Metal Cuff With Blue Stone
$288.00

This knock-out metal cuff will get all the attention! From Italian fashion house Marni, the bracelet features a large rectangular blue glass stone. This one is spectacular! Fully adjustable so it can fit many different wrist sizes. 3 inches at its widest point. Signed.
