WHAT’S HOT?
Spicing Up Your Tired Winter ’Fits!
2/11/26
Dear Frozen Friends,
Are you as tempted as I am to light a ceremonial match to your winter wardrobe? I tend to feel that way every year by the end of winter, but this winter has been so brutal and so long, I'm ready to do it now! And if we’re to believe a certain groundhog named Phil, we’re not done yet. The good news? Living in a walking city like New York proves daily that even when bundled to the max, you can still make a serious style statement.
We’ve just added some fabulous new pieces to HOT that can breathe fresh life into whatever you’ve been wearing on repeat since November. Think of them as quick, high-impact upgrades for the home stretch of winter. Here are five easy ways to shake things up. And remember—if you’ve had your eye on something HOT, now’s the moment: everything is 20% off through Valentine’s Day at midnight.
1. Belting Your Coat
Give your trusty winter coat an instant refresh with a great belt. A wider style often balances heavy fabrics beautifully—and one of Connie Bates’ embellished vintage belts delivers serious impact.
This dark brown leather belt features a stunning silver buckle in a swirl design which is embellished with colored stones and clear crystals. One of a kind! Can be worn at the waist or the hip. 42” long and fits a range of sizes.
A prolific 1980s designer known for her belts as well as her jewelry, Connie Bate’s designs are sculptural and imbued with urban glamour. Inspired by the vibrant energy of New York City, the pieces emphasized individuality and strength, making them wearable statements for powerful self-expression.
This vintage belt from Club Monaco was purchased in the early 2000s right after Ralph Lauren bought the brand. And doesn’t it look just like a Ralph piece? In brown leather, it double wraps around the waist for an obi like effect. Finished with a silver buckle and small grommets, it’s a nice addition to your belt wardrobe. Size medium. In great condition.
2. Pinning Your Coat
A brooch is the easiest way to add personality to outerwear. Go bold on oversized coats with a statement pin—or cluster a few together for extra drama.
This very charming circular brooch is a lovely example of Art Nouveau-inspired jewelry. A beautiful profile of a young woman is rendered in enamel in shades of blue, green, and brown. 2” in diameter. Unsigned, with small signs of wear on the delicate metal frame around the edge.
Purchased many years ago in Tokyo, these charming wooden figures resemble a family. Each figure is wrapped in a different color thread. The tallest is 3”, and the smallest is 2”. The 3 of these charmers would look great enlivening a jacket or coat!
3. Adding a Fur Scarf
Fur (faux or real) is having a moment—and for good reason. It brings warmth, polish, and just a touch of glamour to even the most practical winter layers.
This fluffy, elegant, black Mongolian fur scarf is the perfect blend of fashion and functionality. Crafted from premium soft and curly lambskin. This scarf offers a lightweight, warm, and uniquely textured accessory that exudes sophistication. Its versatile, long-length design is perfect for layering over coats, and the scarf is lined with a gorgeous Italian silk print. Purchased in the early 2000s, it’s in great condition. 49” long.
The Prada group stopped using fur in their designs in 2020. But this fur collar is from the ‘90s and was purchased at Prada in Rome. It’s a stunning scarf made of died Finn raccoon, it ties at the neck with grosgrain ribbon. In excellent condition.
4. Wear Bodacious Danglers
Nothing lifts a bundled look like a pair of unforgettable earrings. We’ve just received exclusive vintage Connie Bates designs from the 1980s—and they’re pure magic.
These chic pearl danglers by Connie Bates Fahrenheit are exquisite! From the 1980s, they feature 2 types of pearls in a gold-tone setting and are actually comfortable to wear. 2.5” long.
A prolific 1980s designer known for her belts as well as her jewelry, Connie Bate’s designs are sculptural and imbued with urban glamour. Inspired by the vibrant energy of New York City, the pieces emphasized individuality and strength, making them wearable statements for powerful self-expression.
These stunning 1990s chandelier earrings by renowned NYC Soho designer Dario Lazaro feature sterling silver settings holding five rich garnets each, finished with a luminous freshwater pearl drop. Designed for pierced ears and measuring 2.5" long, they balance vintage glamour with wearable elegance—there’s a matching necklace noted on the vintage necklace tab for a coordinated look.
5. Zhushing Your Bag with Charms
Bag charms are everywhere, and I’m completely charmed. A playful accessory or two instantly personalizes your tote, backpack, or it-bag—and makes winter dressing feel fun again.
How cute is this Max Mara bag charm? It’s the Max Mara Icon overcoat in beige with red leather trim. 5” long and attaches with a red leather strap. Can be used as a key chain also.
An elongated black clip holds a large leather tassel, a black chain, and other silver fobs. Handmade and 9” long.
Let’s finish winter strong—and stylishly.
Terry xoxo
